The MYAN have released a policy platform identifying key issues and prorities areas for young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds in the lead up to the 2016 Federal Election. The platform calls on all candidates to lead with innovative and concrete policies that ensure young people can unlock opportunities that lead to full participation.

News Update - MYAN NSW Launch

Young people of refugee and migrant backgrounds will have access to a range of services following the launch of the first ever specialist multicultural youth organisation in NSW. The MYAN NSW was launched on Thursday, 4 December 2014 at the Courtyard, Riverside Theatres, corner of Church and Market Streets Parramatta. The Multicultural Youth Affairs Network (MYAN) NSW will support a targeted approach to meeting the needs of young people of refugee and migrant backgrounds, so they can become active participants in their community. It will assist organisations to better understand these needs and provide formal and informal advice to local, state and federal governments.

News Update - MYAN FUSE Highlights

The MYAN was thrilled to host Australia's first-ever national multicultural youth summit in Sydney between 22nd and 24th October. FUSE brought together 40 of the brightest multicultural young leaders from across Australia, to equip them with the skills, confidence and networks to create change and become influential Australians.

Media Release - Landmark CALD Youth Census Report 2014

Using the latest Australian Census data, the report provides data and comparative analysis that has never before been captured to shine a light on key issues for the culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) youth population in Australia and where those issues are most likely to be felt. The report focuses on the education, employment and living arrangements of young people at both the state and national levels.

News Update - October

MYAN &SCOA Consultation - National Youth Settlement Training Unit

The MYAN is working in collaboration with MDA, Navitas English, AMES, DIAC, SCOA, FASSTT and AYAC to develop this unit. The prokect will result in a package of training materials for a nationally accredited unit of competency specifcially targeted at those who have young people from refugee backgrounds a their clients, students or patients.
