Kate is the Community Development Officer at MYAN. Kate moved to Australia as an international student and since graduating she has been part of the MYAN team as a young staff across various projects and events. Her experience ranges from project support, youth and community engagement, event planning and facilitation. She is a fierce advocate for social justice and through her role at MYAN is on a continuous journey of applying systemic and strategic advocacy for sustainable change. As a multicultural young person in Australia she not only strives for diversity and meaningful inclusion but she is also committed to reconciliation and First Nations ally ship.
Kate was born in Mauritius and completed a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in International Relations and minoring in Policy and Politics at Deakin University, Australia. She has also completed a Certificate IV in Community Services and will soon be undertaking a Master in Humanitarianism and Development at Deakin University.
