Applications are now open for the Pre-COP31 Australia and Pacific Youth Climate Dialogue.
In October 2026, young climate leaders from across Australia, the Pacific and key COP partner countries will come together in Fiji for the Pre-COP31 Australia-Pacific Youth Climate Dialogue. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a youth-led space where young people can share their experiences of climate change, exchange ideas and solutions, and help shape conversations about regional and global climate action.
The Dialogue is designed by and for young people. Participants’ ideas lived experiences and priorities will help inform what governments and negotiators take into formal climate discussions, all the way through to COP31.
The Pre-COP31 APYCD is organised by UNICEF, the Government of Fiji and the Government of Australia, in partnership with the Pacific Island Students Fighting Climate Change (PISFCC), the Pacific Islands Climate Action Network (PICAN) and the Pacific Youth Council (PYC).
This fully funded, youth-led event is a chance to connect with other young climate leaders, strengthen your advocacy and negotiation skills, and contribute directly to climate conversations that affect young people across our region.
With the Dialogue taking place just before Pre-COP31, the voices and recommendations of young people will help shape government and negotiator discussions through Pre-COP31 and COP31 Türkiye. Together with UNICEF Pacific, we are working to make sure young people’s perspectives, priorities and solutions are part of climate decision-making.
