Data insights include:
Total Youth Arrivals: 14,988 young people aged 12-24 arrived in Australia via the Humanitarian, Family and Skilled migration streams (a decrease by 5.62% from last year). Young people represent 18.5% of the total number of arrivals across all three migration streams.
Top 3 Settlement Locations for Young People
- Humanitarian stream: VIC (40%) NSW (27%) QLD (15%)
- Family stream: VIC (35%) NSW (31%) QLD (12%)
- Skilled stream: NSW (27%) VIC (22%) QLD (13%)
Top 3 Country of Birth:
- Humanitarian stream: Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq.
- Family stream: Afghanistan, Pakistan and the Philippines
- Skilled stream: India, the Philippines, and China
