The MYAN 2024’s Data Snapshot provides a comprehensive overview of youth arrivals to Australia, aged 12-24, through the Humanitarian, Family, and Skilled migration streams from July 2023 to June 2024. Data highlights include:
- Total Youth Arrivals: 15,880 young people arrived through the three streams, up from 14,747 last year, representing 17.5% of total arrivals. The increase underscores the need for targeted youth settlement services.

- Family and Skilled: Both streams showed a higher proportion of youth aged 18-24, with a fairly even gender split.
- Country of Origin:
- Humanitarian stream: Most youth were from Afghanistan, Iraq, and the Syrian Arab Republic.
- Family stream: The primary countries were India, China, and Vietnam.
- State Settlement: New South Wales and Victoria received the largest share, with 29% and 35% of youth arrivals, respectively.
This snapshot is based on data from the Department of Home Affairs and excludes certain visa subclasses. It aims to support understanding of demographic trends and facilitate appropriate service planning for young migrants.
