Dear FUSE delegates,

WOW, we can't believe it has already been two weeks since FUSE! Have you recovered yet?

It was a pleasure meeting and working with such an amazing group of engaged and talented young people. We want to thank you all again for your hard work and commitment, and to congratulate you on making it through a jam-packed three days of learning, networking, making new friends and planning for future activities.
So what’s next?

You might be wondering what’s next and thinking about exploring opportunities to build on the momentum from FUSE. Here are some suggestions to get you started:
  • Make a submission to the Federal Inquiry into Migrant Settlement Outcomes
Make it your first advocacy task for 2017 to contribute to a submission to this inquiry! Whether you write a letter yourself, get together with your state delegates and write a joint submission, or if you talk to your state/territory MYAN contact about what they are doing - we encourage everyone to contribute in some way to this Federal Inquiry. The voices of young people really need to be heard by those making decisions and this is your chance to make that happen! More information available here. Don't forget submissions are due on 31 January 2017

  • Tell us how we can make FUSE even better!
We want to make sure future FUSE events are even better than the last two, and need your feedback to help do that. It will take just five minutes of your time and you could win a great prize. Click here to give us your feedback! We will also use your thoughts to inform how we support young people in states and territories through the MYAN network and we will circulate the themes within the FUSE report in 2017.

  • Join the Youth Ambassadors Network to the MYAN
As you heard at FUSE, the Youth Ambassadors Network to the MYAN (YAN) plays a critical role in informing the work we do. You can read more about the role of the YAN here. Early next year we will be calling for applications for new members. To keep up-to-date with the application process and to find out when you can apply, follow us on social media (links below) and sign up to our eNews!

  • Stay in touch
We encourage you all to connect with the MYAN representatives in your state or territory to explore opportunities for ongoing engagement, and we encourage you to maintain connections with each other. You can Like us on Facebook to stay in touch with MYAN (see links below) or sign up to our eNews for news and updates too.

A couple of other things....
  • Video from young advocates
Before the advocacy panel on the second day of FUSE, we showed you a snippet of a video put together by young people who are already active advocates. Here is a link to the full video if you would like to watch it!

  • Photos from FUSE 2016
We had a couple of great professional photographers capturing all the action at FUSE. We will have the photos together in the new year will share them in an album on the private FUSE Facebook page. If you are not on Facebook and would like to receive these via email, please let us know - myanprojects@myan.org.au.

Once again, a huge thank you to you all.

We’ll be in touch in 2017, have a safe and relaxing summer break everyone!

Cheers,
MYAN Australia
