This report specifically highlights the impact of COVID-19 on employment for young people and reveals how the recession of 2020 will likely have lasting effects on young people, particularly young migrants.
Furthermore, this report addresses a gap in national data on economic participation and employment outcomes for young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds in Australia, and contributes an evidence base to this area.
A key finding from this report is that overall, it is the young people who are crucial to Australia’s economic recovery and long-term sustainability, are most impacted by the labour force participation and implications of the COVID-19 pandemic.
