MYAN and the National Ethnic Disability Alliance (NEDA)
are excited to invite you to our National Meeting on

'Young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds with disabilities: exploring experiences and gaps'

 
RSVP for the National Meeting on Disability
The event will be co-hosted by MYAN and NEDA and moderated by Nadine Liddy (MYAN) and Dominic Hồng Ɖức Golding (NEDA). We will start the conversation with youth perspectives, hearing from Cindy Liu and Grace Edward, and representatives from the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability. 

The purpose of this meeting is to:
• Hear from and raise awareness about the personal/lived experiences of disability for young people (aged 12-24) from refugee and migrant backgrounds>
• Better understand which organisations are working with this group of young people to provide support
Identify what the gaps might be, and
Help to inform MYAN and NEDA’s submission to the Royal Commission.

Further information, including an agenda will be circulated prior to the event.

Cindy is a university student who is passionate about mental health and disability rights.
Grace Edwards 
Multicultural Youth Queensland Ambassador (MyQ)

As a creative producer, director and playwright, she believes in the power of storytelling as a tool to understand one another.  Grace is currently working for the Brisbane Multicultural Center (BEMAC) as a Creative producer and Arts officer.
