Yesterday in Canberra UNHCR's Regional Representative, Thomas Albrecht, launched SPEAKING UP: The Global Refugee Youth Consultations in Australia Report.
This report presents the key issues and challenges identified at the global refugee youth consultations (GRYC) you participated in earlier this year. The report draws together your ideas, solutions and recommendations for working with young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds to address the issues and concerns that matter to you.
The MYAN and RCOA would like to say a massive THANK YOU to you for your time and contribution to the GRYC in Australia and this report. Without your input this wouldn't have been possible.
The SPEAKING UP report is an important part of the national and international advocacy on issues facing refugee and asylum seeking young people. We are committed to using the report in our work with young people, with a focus on how to implement the recommendations.
We hope the shared reflections of more than 500 young people captured in this report will amplify your own voice and those of young people from refugee and asylum seeking backgrounds across Australia and around the world.
