In this brief video, Dr. Nisha Khot, an obstetrician, addresses common concerns about COVID-19 vaccines affecting the DNA of mothers and their babies. She explains that mRNA vaccines, such as Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, do not alter human DNA. MRNA from the vaccine does not enter the cell nucleus, where DNA is housed and is quickly broken down by the body after use. Khot emphasises that COVID-19 vaccination is safe for pregnant women and does not impact the genetic material of either the mother or the baby.
