#WHATSYOURWHY Creative Contest
In response to the barrier that audiences from multicultural communities required information in creative ways and to come over the monotony of fearful messages of COVID-19, the creative contest was conducted.
The aim here was to bring out the positive stories about vaccines and its importance from the multicultural youth through a creative process- i.e., through art, photography and poem etc.
- It was conducted in two stages. In the first stage, the 16+ youth were called forward to submit their artwork. And in the second stage, the kids were called forward.
- This contest was intended to push the audiences to think about how their lives have been positively altered due to the vaccines and hence make them to propagate the same among their circle.
Promoting vaccine intake through art contest
Young kids are agents of change, often taking the lead in responding to societal challenges. On the occasion of World Art Day on 16th April 2022 and World Immunisation Week from 24th to 30th April 2022, MYAN supported by Australian Department of Health conducted an Online Art Contest for kids to inspire the young generations to share their unique perspectives and creative ideas on the theme: “Vaccines are important because….?”
The Online Art Contest was conducted for kids between the age of 5 to 15. With the aim to highlight the collective action needed to promote the use of vaccines to protect people of all ages against disease, MYAN invited artworks that could range from painting, drawing, photography, to digital media design and more. In response to the call, MYAN received more than 30 artworks. The artworks were ranked by creative youth members from MYAN.
We are pleased to share your unique artwork and spread your message.
