Welcome to MYAN’s June e-newsletter!

We’re really excited to share our latest research, the Racism in Schools Policy Paper. It makes a strong case for nationally coordinated action and sets out a clear path forward for tackling racism in schools. Like all meaningful change, it will take a collective effort from across the country, and we’re proud to be part of that push.

May brought the release of the 2026–27 Federal Budget, with some positive steps in areas like housing, skills recognition and social cohesion, while also highlighting the ongoing pressure young people are feeling from the rising cost of living. In June, we marked Refugee Week and World Refugee Day by sharing powerful stories of advocacy and leadership from across the MYAN community.  

We also continued these conversations through the latest episode of the Language Matters podcast, where we unpack what belonging means for multicultural young people in Australia.
